Sport
At Camden South Public School, students have countless opportunities to get active, compete, and shine. From PSSA and State Knockout competitions to swimming, athletics, and cross country, our students proudly represent our school with teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship — from school level right through to NSW and national teams.
Orienteering
At Camden South Public School, our Stage 3 High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) students proudly showcased their skills at the Orienteering Championships held at the Camden Equestrian Centre. They achieved outstanding results — winning the Year 5 Girls, Year 5 Boys, Year 6 Boys, and Girls Teams Event, and claiming the title of Overall Winning School. This incredible achievement reflects our students’ teamwork, determination, and problem-solving skills. Well done to all involved! 🏆🧭👏
Debating and public speaking
At Camden South Public School, students have a wealth of opportunities to develop their confidence and communication skills through Public Speaking and Debating. We proudly participate in Multicultural Public Speaking, the Mayor for a Day competition, and the Ultimo Public Speaking program. Our multiple debating teams are highly competitive and have achieved outstanding success over the years, showcasing the incredible talent, teamwork, and persuasive skills of our students. 🗣️🏆
Tournament of the Minds
At Camden South Public School, students in Years 4–6 have the opportunity to take part in Tournament of the Minds (TOM) — a creative, collaborative problem-solving competition that challenges students across disciplines including STEM, The Arts, Social Sciences, and Language Literature. Working in teams, students think critically, communicate effectively, and showcase their creativity through innovative solutions and performances. Camden South has a proud history of success, with teams achieving recognition at both state and national levels. We’re incredibly proud of our students’ commitment, teamwork, and imagination in representing our school. 🌟🤝🧠
Creative and performing arts
At Camden South Public School, creativity shines in every corner! From junior and senior dance groups, fun dance, glee club, choir, and band, to our featured artists, Art Show, and Tournament of the Minds team — there’s a creative and performing arts group for everyone. Our students are given wonderful opportunities to express themselves, build confidence, and showcase their amazing talents across a wide range of artistic experiences. 🎭🎨🎶
Incursions & excursions
At Camden South Public School, learning goes beyond the classroom through a rich variety of incursions and excursions that inspire curiosity and connection. These experiences give students the chance to explore, discover, and see how their learning connects to the real world — from visits to Calmsley Hill Farm, Mount Annan Botanical Gardens, Wooglemai Environmental Education Centre, and The Rocks in Sydney, to engaging hands-on workshops and performances held right here at school. Each experience helps our students learn, grow, and create lasting memories. 🌿🚌✨
School Camps
At Camden South Public School, our school camps offer students unforgettable opportunities to learn, grow, and build independence. Year 4 students enjoy an overnight adventure at Wooglemai Environmental Education Centre, where they explore nature, teamwork, and environmental sustainability. Year 5 students travel to Canberra for three days, deepening their understanding of Australian history, government, and culture through engaging, hands-on experiences. Year 6 students head to the Great Aussie Bush Camp for three days of outdoor adventure, teamwork, and personal challenge — developing confidence, resilience, and leadership. These experiences are a highlight of the primary years, creating lifelong memories and friendships. 🏕️🌿✨
